TAKA BLOOM Takas Groove 12"
(Blaktrax)
VBLK002
The modern day legend that is Taka Boom (Chaka Khan’s younger sister!) is back with her strongest release since the Joey Negro produced top 20 smash, It Must Be the Music. Blow My Mind is a soaring house track with a spine tingling performance from the diva herself produced by long time collaborator and Shaboom lynch pin, Mark Bell. It hangs around a driving bassline played by Mark and is backed up by driving drums and mesmerizing pads all topped off with a tune that once heard is never forgotten and guaranteed dance floor devastation. The flip, Taka’s Groove, is remixed by Blakdoktor (DJ legend Doc Martin and Mark Bell) and takes a subtler but no less effective approach. It is deep house at its’ best with a bouncing dubby feel and Taka’s gorgeous vocals playing in and out of the melodies, perfect for those lost late nights and already supported by Doc himself and King Britt.ROB MELLO Fantasize 12"
(Classic Music Company)
VCMC49
Hammered by Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, and Doc Martin for ages, this is almost already a classic, ha ha. Rob takes a 21st century twist on Laid Back's monster White Horse and adds the sultry vocals of Cecile. Off the hook for sure.

FRIES & BRIDGES Make It Hot EP 12"
(Music For Freaks)
VMFF12019
"Its everything the doom merchants say is wrong with deep house and everything I say is right about it. Fuck em all this is wicked" Elliot Eastwick (Jockey Slut)
French duo Fries & Bridges aka Phil Weeks and Hector Moralez, present their debut outing on Music For Freaks and it sure is hot! Make It Hot contains three killer tracks, the dubbed out disco workout of We’re Going to Make It Hot, Don’t Stop on the flip oozes funk and has a direct approach to it with tribal drums and a driving bassline. Finally there is High Men, another superb deep excursion with twisted vocals and eerie strings.
JAYMZ NYLON I Know A Place RMXs 12"
(Out Of The Loop)
VOOL013
Four remixes of this great track. On remix duties are Hamish Anderson (Shades Of Black), Marston Ferry, Ewan Pearson as does Andy Brown and Malik Williams.
PARTIAL ARTS Canopy 12"
(Out Of The Loop)
VOOL014
Partial Arts is a pseudonym for Ewan Pearson (Maas, World Of Apples) and new kid on the block Al Usher. They have previously remixed Jaymz Nylon's I Know A Place for Out Of The Loop together. Canopy, their debut single, is already getting heavy rotation from Rainer Truby and Mr Scruff. The original mix is a three-part epic (a suite if you will) with killer Recloose-style bass, orchestral strings, swinging percussion and distinctive vocals. And that's just the first half. The first remix comes from Grand Central's Riton, who considers this to be one of his best mixes. It's an uptempo beat-fest full of analogue squelches, cowbells and a noise that sounds like a plastic bucket being hit with a wet fish. Russ Gabriel's remix is a deeper affair, which goes from introspective to booty bouncing at the flick of a switch…awesome!
AKABU Ride The Storm (remixes) 12"
(NRK Sound Division)
VNRK060

V12PRO3
The third release on Birmingham based Procreation Recordings is from deep house favourites, Drop Music founders and recent visitors Inland Knights. Rhythm Plate’s Heading Home Remix and Steve Lee, DJ from free party favorites Smokescreen, dons his Little Men guise for a killer looped and filtered disco style revision.NEON HEIGHTS Cannonball 12"
(Afro Art)
VAFRO15
Neon Heights, who have brought us numerous 12"s on labels like Glasgow Underground, brings a jazzy, somewhat 2-steppy groove with big blaring horns. Paul Murphy remixes on the flip with slightly tougher drums. both tracks also sound good at 33rpm…. but suck when you try to play em backwards…BANG THE PARTY Bang Bang You’re Mine 12"
(Classic Music Company)
VCMC48

(Glasgow Underground)
VGU091
After releases on Guidance and Pascal’s own Rotax imprint, Pascal & Mister Day return to Glasgow Underground with the first single to be taken from last summer’s long player The Lure of Melody. On the first 12" Milton Jackson delivers two vocal-orientated mixes. His takes Duperray’s near falsetto tones and works them over a broken groove that’s packed with rubbery bass and tough no-nonsense beats. His Airport Dub on the other hand delivers a tough garage dub.PASCAL & MR DAY Shelter – Milton Jackson Mixes (2) 12"
(Glasgow Underground)
VGU092
On the second 12" young Milton Jackson again, takes us on a ride through the darker side of life. His M-A-D dub sounds like the best of Freaks or Rob Mello twisted into a huge bass-bumping rhythm ride while his D-Dub sets up a hypnotic synth hook and works it with some killer beats and loopy effects.JERSEY STREET Hold Your Head Up High 12"
(Out Of The Loop)
VOOL010
Jersey Street are the Manchester-based soulful house / R n' B outfit who have found favour with Francois Kevorkian, Joe Claussell, Tony Humphries and Timmy Regisford by creating tracks which have become anthems at Body and Soul and The Shelter. They've released tracks on Junior Boys Own and Glasgow Underground. The original mix of Hold Your Head Up High is a barn storming Gospel-house number. The Sunday Morning mix (just vocals and keys) has excited Ashley Beedle so much that he rang up to ask if he could re-edit it.PAPA WASHINGTON TRIO Trio De Janeiro 12"

(Paperecordings)
VPAP081
Outcold, it seems, formed for no particular reason; they don’t know why it happened, it just did. They actually believe it was some higher force from the universe that started the whole thing off well, make up your own mind. Sound? Well older tracks have been described as, typically strong and deeply textured take on later-night house, and Emma’s contributions have been described simply as, beautiful funky late-night ballads. Outcold are John Andersson and Johan Emmoth, however you may know them better as the production team Laid, they are both from a little town near Stockholm called Nykoping, and as typical school kids who didn’t like learning or sporting, they made music. They enjoy cooking food, and hanging around with their super cool friends.PILIIAVAN & ZIMBARDO Zimbardos Theme 12"
(Honchos Music)
VHM012
Piliavin & Zimbardo, just like their psychologist namesakes, take the study of human nature to new heights. These boys however are only interested in the human nature of music, and have created two pieces of psychologically challenging tribal house! Anyway, enough of the psychology lesson, Piliavin & Zimbardo hail from Yorkshire, England, and are just taking their first few steps into the big bad world of dance music. But with an EP due out on Eric Morillo’s Subliminal label, a track on a forthcoming Harry Choo Choo Romero mix compilation and this their debut EP for Honchos, P&Z are already taking giant steps in the music world. Side A presents Zimbardo’s Theme, a massive hypnotic tribal house track with a nod to H-Foundation’s popular West Coast style. Quality beats and a dub inspired sample will make this record a permanent fixture in the record boxes of DJs who like their music tribal & pumping. Don’t Stop on the flip side continues the vibe with a heavy drum track, rolling percussion, pertinent breakdowns and hypnotic sub bass.DRUG PUNKS Drug / Punk 12"
